Innisfil, ON (May 17, 2019)- As the weather heats up so does the work in the Benedict Motorsports shop.

Heading into the Canadian May Long weekend, Benedict is gearing up for a weekend full of racing, at Sunset Speedway. Saturday May 18th, 2019 will kick off the APC United Late Model Touring Series Season, and Sunday the 19th will bring the second night for the NASCAR Whelen All American Series, Division 1.

With countless hours put in, in the garage over the past few months the team is ready to bring their all to the track this weekend.

"We've been working really hard over the off season, but especially the past month or so. Having two cars has been a lot of work and time, but I know it will be so rewarding to hit the track, in two cars this weekend."

The double header this weekend is running at Benedict's home track, Sunset Speedway. Though humble, the driver is confident in his abilities here.

"I'm glad the first time I'll be in the Pro Late Model will be at Sunset, i'm comfortable there. Being comfortable there will definitely help me be able to learn the new car, and worry less about learning a new race track."

With 11 feature wins under his belt in his Limited Late Model at Sunset Speedway Benedict proves he has the talent, experience and comfort level to succeed at the track.

Benedict hopes to convert his experience in his Limted Late Model to a good finish in his Pro Late Model.

With a rookie class fielding 10 drivers, including Benedict and countless big names on the roster, he has a lot of competition heading in to the 10 race series.

Benedict will be back in his Limited Late Model for Spring Velocity this Sunday in hopes to take home another trophy.

"Our team is great with long runs, with the 75 lap feature this Sunday we really think we can use that to our advantage, and get ahead of the competition. Not only that, but we hope to have the same long run success in the Pro, which will come in handy for the 100 laps this Saturday."

With much of his success coming from longer races, Benedict will be sitting in a good spot for the 100 lap Pro Late Model races though out the season, as well as special events in the Limited Late Model.
