“I’m excited to get behind the wheel after working on my brother’s car the last few years,” McLean said.
Entering the year, McLean is keeping his goals realistic, while feeling confident given the experience surrounding him.
“Of course, we would love to win a race this season,” he commented. “But realistically since we won’t be running every night due to my dad’s previous commitments, we would be happy to be running competitively by the end of the season.”
Success is nothing new for the McLean family, with several generations and family members having visited victory lane through the various classes in racing. Despite that, McLean says he isn’t feeling any additional pressure entering the season.
“I want to put my mark right up there with theirs,” he said. “When you have as many wins and championships as my uncle Gary and my Grandpa Morley as drivers and my dad has as a crew chief/ crew member, you have to be excited to have these guys in my corner. It is also a big help to have my brother Travis to lean on since it hasn’t been to long since he drove these cars and was winning at Full Throttle.”
