Montreal, (June 11, 2018) – Patrick Dussault gave an impressive performance, as he was back on track at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in Montreal, for rounds five and six of the Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada. The driver of the Lauzon Autosport n°77 Porsche GT3 Cup has been involved in close battles for positions during both races.

On Sunday’s race, he put the spotlight on him while he made an impressive comeback. Dussault made his way through the field, starting on the seventh spot on the grid. By the end of the race, he had close up to the third place, after a great battle for a podium finish. He crossed the finish line in third position, but both drivers were given a controversial penalty.

“I had never driven the Porsche GT3 Cup as I did today (Sunday). I really felt that I could push the car to its limits. I gave everything I had, and I think that I gave a great show throughout the race. It’s a shame that I was given this penalty, but for me, it still feels like a podium finish,” said the driver of the Lauzon Autosport n°77 car, who finally scores an eighth place finish after the penalty.

Dussault was yet very fast, as he cut near a second off his qualifying time during the race. “We pulled out a great team effort, and it’s rewarding to see that we can achieve great things like we did,” he declared.

The day before, Dussault was eager to show his abilities while he was at home at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve. Seventh on the grid, he proved to be fast and had a few battles while trying to gain positions. Unfortunately, he as penalized after a contact.

“GT Racing team has worked very hard, and Lauzon Autosport has been very supportive since the beginning. I wanted to give them great performances here, as they were all there to cheer me on. The penalties are disappointing, but overall, I am happy of what we achieved this weekend,” he concluded.

Patrick Dussault and the Lauzon Autosport no77 Porsche GT3 Cup will be back in action on July 13-15, as the Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada presented by Yokohama takes on the streets of Toronto, as part of the Toronto Indy weekend
